- Driving home. Turn on my cell phone (it doesn't work in the office or my home anymore - all of 6 months old). Get a voicemail from a guy trying to invite himself to "visit" me. First of all, my home is a disaster (more on that in the next items). Second, I know what "visit" mean - and that ain't gonna happen. Not with him anyway. Annoyed that he doesn't leave a call back number - even though I wouldn't have called anyway. Double annoyed that he asks, for the billionth time, when I get off work - even though I've already answered that question the billion other times and the answer never changes... "9pm or later"!! Triple annoyed when I recall how each time I give that answer, he asks if I can leave early. Uh... hello... even if I could, I would not do so for you!! Stop at the drugstore & kill time to make extra-sure that I get home at an hour too late for him to "just stop by". Still pissed.
- Manage to keep Moshi inside the house as I go in. Turn around to lock the security door and see something odd at the top of the porch "roof". I can tell it's dark grey. Oh, wait... there's another one. They don't look spider related. Besides, I've had lots of spiders on the porch but never seen anything like those. I step outside and realize... wasp/hornet/yellow jacket nests!! Just the beginning - didn't see them this morning and they definitely weren't there 2 nights ago. By size, there is probably 1 flying stinging bug (if any) in each of them. I've had about 6 new stingy bugs show up in my backyard this summer. At least now I know where 1, maybe 2, is planning to live. Back to drugstore. Buy wasp/hornet/yellow jacket killer spray. Come home. Scare Boo & Moshi enough that I can open the security door without them running out it. Spray down the nests. Pray that kills at least a couple of the bugs (supposed to keep working for a few days). Wonder where the rest of the stingy bugs are living... and if I'm going to find that out the hard/expensive way (massive nest in the attic or, worse, one of the cats (Moshi) pissing off a hive and getting repeatedly stung).
- Realize the bathroom, again, smells like cat pee. Appreciate that Moshi is trying to follow my example in room selection. Annoyed that I don't know exactly where he's doing it so I have to spray pretty much the entire room with 409 & odor neutralizer.
- Discover that Moshi and I have a communication problem. As I sit on the bed and he walks around mewing. I think he's asking for petting. I indicate to come up on the bed. He was actually asking where, since I won't let him outside, he should pee. We go through this twice. LOTS of yelling on my part.
I just posted 2 tix to She Wants Revenge, at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, this Sun (Oct 22) starting at $2.50. I paid $90 plus but totally spazzed on the fact that I had 2 sets of tix and was supposed to list the 2nd set for sale. Now the concert is just a few days away and someone is going to get a great deal on seats.
I'd rather it be a Voxer than a stranger. Scientist/Wasp or CupCate - if either of you will be in town for the show, I'd be willing to give the tix to you - as in for FREE. Email me ASAP and I'll have a friend do "buy it now" on the tix so the auction closes - then I'll drop them in express mail to you!! [Update 10/17, 3pm - the Wasp can't go. I know CupCate is travelling and may not get this before my action closes. Is anyone else interested?]
In unrelated news: Has anyone else noticed how freakin' addictive this site is? Yesterday I was reading & commenting & typing away and suddenly realized I could hear my neighbor leaving for work. It was 5am and I still hadn't gone to bed. Damn you people and your interesting stories. Damn you all to my neighborhood!
