Only took me 45 seconds to start crying.. though the fact that I'm finishing off the bottle of champagne from my breakfast toast probably helped that along. But they're sooooo in love... how can you not cry from happiness?
I was there in spirit! I wish you both a long lifetime of love!

Tell us a true story that proves it really is a small world after all.

About 2 years ago, I was working as a contractor at the company that bought my current company. I had kinda befriended another contractor there, Bill, and we'd talk off and on.
One day, during lunch, we were having a long convo about the old days of going to punk rock gigs in Orange County. About an hour into the convo - this is about a month after we first started talking - I suddenly had the feeling that I recognized his eyes. I was pretty sure he was the guy in a photo I took back in 1982 (according to a note on the pic) - the brother of the "hot guy" of my social circle at that time. If I was right, Bill had come with his brother when we all went down to the cliffs in Laguna, drank till night-time, and realized we had become stranded in a cove by the high tide. Getting out was a major problem but, after some antics & adventures, we eventually all made it out and headed home.
To my knowledge, that is the one and only time this guy & I, possibly Bill, had ever met. But I loved the photo I had taken of these brothers and had looked at it many, many times over the years... so I had a hunch that I was right.
I waited about 2 hours, debating what to do, and finally stopped at Bill's desk and asked, "Did you once, back in the 80s, get stranded in Crystal Cove with a bunch of friends - and later have a HUGE fist fight with your brother on Pacific Coast Highway while one of you was driving?"
He FREAKED! Sure enough... same guy!! He said that was the one and only time he and his brother EVER came to blows with each other. We (and our coworkers) were pretty stunned - so we only caught up on little pieces of info before leaving work that evening.
I scanned the photos I had from that day in 1982 and brought him prints and files the next day... which Bill fowarded on to his brother, Steve.
Bill still knew, or knew of, most of the people from that old social circle and caught me up on what had become of everyone. I asked about "Clark" - who was a friend of the boyfriend of my best friend. I was "haunted" by my vague memory of him because I STILL have his "Bob & Doug McKenzie, Great White North" album (as in vinyl LP) at home with a "This is Clark's" note on it. I'm quite anal about returning stuff and felt bad that the album had ended up in my possession - especially since Clark hadn't lent it to me (he loaned it to my best friend, who then loaned it to me without Clark's permission). Also, to this day, I say "Clarkie's not here", which has something to do with an inside joke between me and my best friend back then - but I have NO idea what it means.
From Bill, I learned that Clark is now some bigwig, like a VP, at Capitol Records. I haven't returned the album to him yet - but I will - and only wish I could be there to see a VP(-ish) of Capitol Records finally get his album from 1982 returned to him!!
Although Bill and I have each moved on, I still get occassional emails from him. In fact, today's was a link to his brother (the 1982 "hot guy"), Steve, being featured in the local paper today (includes current pic - if you want to see how 25 yrs changes a person). Which is what reminded me to answer this QotD again.
