I normally go to bed at 3 am and get up at 10a. I will, very literally, have to be up by 5:30am to get to DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (fuck!!) in time to park.
Assuming I manage to stay awake during jury selection, how many people do you think I'm liable to find innocent on 2.5 hrs of sleep - especially when I know I'll be facing a 2hr commute home (30 miles)??
have NO idea how long I have to serve (a day? [I think that's only Orange County Superior Court] a week? a month? the rest of my fucking life [I'm sure it will feel like it!]).
Assuming it's a week or more, this encompasses the date of my SF trip and NON-REFUNDABLE airline tix and 2 NON-REFUNDABLE tix to Cirque.
Yes, yes... civic duty... proud to be an American... I'd want my peers to show up if I was being accused of something... blahblahblah.
It still doesn't change the fact that my first 100 responses to opening this are: FUCK!!
So why did I just found out about this today... when Rush tix are the only option (line forms 1 hr before showtime, tix sold 5 min before showtime - no guarantee of availability) at a time I can go?!??! WTF world?!? Why are you doing this to me!?!?
(*yes, I know it doesn't say that Gael's going to be there. but I believe he is. I'm having a "juju".)

CAST: Luz Cipriota, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Camila Sodi, Gael García Bernal, Ana Serradilla
Actor Gael García Bernal’s directing debut is infused with an infectious, youthful energy, voyeuristically following his complex characters at a house party just outside of Mexico City.
Bourgeois, rich kid Cristobal (García Bernal) is having his friends over for a barbecue at his parents’ weekend home. His younger sister (Camila Sodi) and her hippie, pill-popping friends are also staying at the house, and the clash between the two groups of friends, brother and sister, and their childhood friend who works for the family is just the beginning of the story.
Bernal uses subtle undercurrents of tension to seamlessly interlace characters, time and place. Both comic and reflective, DEFICIT is an elegant allegory for current Mexico on the brink of change. Shot in an immediate, improvisational style that emphasizes the class chasms, Bernal elicits layered performances from his young cast, proving himself to be a gifted director as well as a charismatic actor.

Pants worn below hip line. Arrested on the spot for pants worn below the butt cheeks.
I already purchased my (front row) seat to the OC Q/A night. Will also get a ticket for LA - but something further back (the view is actually better from around the mid-point) and on a weekend.
YEEAAAAA!! (me = Cirque FANATIC)

I just posted 2 tix to She Wants Revenge, at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, this Sun (Oct 22) starting at $2.50. I paid $90 plus but totally spazzed on the fact that I had 2 sets of tix and was supposed to list the 2nd set for sale. Now the concert is just a few days away and someone is going to get a great deal on seats.
I'd rather it be a Voxer than a stranger. Scientist/Wasp or CupCate - if either of you will be in town for the show, I'd be willing to give the tix to you - as in for FREE. Email me ASAP and I'll have a friend do "buy it now" on the tix so the auction closes - then I'll drop them in express mail to you!! [Update 10/17, 3pm - the Wasp can't go. I know CupCate is travelling and may not get this before my action closes. Is anyone else interested?]
In unrelated news: Has anyone else noticed how freakin' addictive this site is? Yesterday I was reading & commenting & typing away and suddenly realized I could hear my neighbor leaving for work. It was 5am and I still hadn't gone to bed. Damn you people and your interesting stories. Damn you all to my neighborhood!
