They look amazing in person! And they fit perfectly. People at Exotic World are gonna LOVE them!
Update: Designs are hand-drawn by InkGarden.Vox.com
Everything but the bra was included in the $55 price. We didn't complete anything in the class - she just walked us through options & had up do some sizing, pinning, and basic sewing. It was exactly enough info.
Most of the students were from the current ItsAChick Striptease Series class & are preparing their coordinated costumes for an upcoming group performance. Everyone's costumes will have the same elements - but they get to place them any way they want.
I left with the basic layout/pinning for a shimmy belt and tentative ideas for a sparkle bra. I reaaallllly need to take myself on a field trip to the fashion district (downtown LA) and buy a gazillion rhinestones. Midnight update: Penny said she's planning a "panties & pasties" workshop and a "Tour of the Fashion District" workshop in the near future. Yaaaaay!!
... teaching the bra & shimmy belt workshop (that's Jewel of Denial on the left, in the pink pants). That bra she's modeling was AWESOME up close!
The workshop was really good. I'll prob take the next ItsAChick burlesque series - expected to start on May 31. I thought they'd wait till after ExoticWorld but Penny, who leads the class, can't go because of her "real job" (costumer on Chuck) - so she's working the class to her schedule.
Did I just read "Donkey Photo Booth"?? (enbiggen the flyer)
Yes... yes.. OH, HELL YES!!
Tix went on sale today. General admission only, $40. They have lots of bars.
Thanks to a major freeway backup, I was late to class. Think I'll take surface streets next week.
Today's class was mostly lecture and examples of costumes. I learned about some books which I'll probably order in the next couple weeks (including one on Corset making) and I suddenly want to cover everything I own with rhinestones and/or fringe. Okay... maybe that want isn't actually so sudden. But believing I can actually DO it... that part is sudden.
Next week is FEATHER FAN CONSTRUCTION! We're only gonna make a "demo" fan (3 feathers) but, hey... it's a start! We have Easter off then the rest of the classes are:
- Sunday, April 19th 3-5pm: Pastie, Bra and Shimmy Belt construction
- Sunday, April 26th 3-5 p.m: Corsets, Fishnets and Tulle
- Sunday, May 3rd 3-5pm:make-up, hair and WIGS!
The cats cajoled me into skipping the eyelash repairs before class and the salon was closed when I got back into the LBC. I should be packing stuff in the dining room right now but I don't feel like it... I'm tired and my stomach/GI are being "odd". Adrian's going to have to fight his way through a disaster area - but he already knew that.
Here's Vixen doing her tease to Foreigner's "Cold as Ice". I saw the bra up close & personal - it's covered in high end Swarovski crystals... goregous!
This pic looked a LOT better on my phone. Guess I'll try to tweak some of them tonight and see if I got anything decent. Prob not... the lighting wasn't in my favor.
I was front row, extreme right side... not bad for buying at the door (though I wish I'd known about the 2nd row seats, those were a little better). Came in 5 min late - missed the first song & strip. Show was outstanding. 2.5 hrs of music, including a guest singer, the burlesque girls, and an old-radio-style MC... which I now realize is kind of odd since, overall, the show had a bit of a Vegas theme (a Rat Pack set, an Elvis set, etc).
I bought a CD and got it autographed by everyone. I thought RCR was based in San Diego but they said LA. And the dancers are from LA too... the one in purple (forgot her name) will be performing with my instructor in April.
