Find, and make appt with, endocrinologist to check for hypothyroid or other metabolic "root cause" of various symptomsDone 3/3 - First avail appt April 10, 11am (check referral from Dr. Medhat - see if they're in network and can see me sooner)- Despite thyroid function always coming back “normal” on blood tests, I may be in the "difficult to diagnose; needs more tests" range. I have several minor symptoms (obesity; sudden weight gain; difficulty losing weight; on/off depression; irregular cycles; fatigue; irritability (shut up, Jim!); decreased libido (I assumed this was from the Depo shots); recurrent sinus infections) and a rather extreme version of what I just learned is a classic major symptom of hypothyroidism, low body temp. Dr. Oz's latest book says a waking temp of 98 is considered low and translates to high risk. My normal temp is between 97.4 and 97.7 – my waking temp is even lower (today was 96.4). This also translates into EXTREME intolerance of cold temps (ask anyone at my office how I feel about cold temps - it ain't pretty!!)
NOT ToDo:
- Eat fast food of any kind. Severely limit “junk” food
- Push myself too hard at workouts (if knee is acting up, admit it and adapt; realize limits of my body)
- Yell at Boo more than she deserves
- Take other people's crap personally
- Stay inside my house all weekend
- Spend money I don't have on stuff I don't need

Good luck with your list!!
From what I've read, there is an attitude of "normal" may not be normal for YOU. There are also several additional tests for specific thyroid functionality and thyroid-to-pituitary functionality which can provide additional info. Also, the range considered "normal" was apparently massively revised a few years back (from 0.5-5.5 to 0.3 to 3.0) - so it's worth looking into again.
I'm quite nervous about having yet one more doc tell me there's nothing wrong with me, despite a barrage of symptoms, but gawd wouldn't it be great if they did find something?!?. If it's not my thyroid maybe they'll find some other metabolic disorder. I'll keep you posted.
"Despite thyroid function always coming back “normal” on blood tests"
Yup, that's what happened to me ~ until it got so bad that I was literally falling asleep in the afternoons.
I just keep thinking how great it would be to have enough energy to do something, ANYTHING, after work; to not spend my entire weekends in bed/asleep, to not cancel plans because "I'm too tired". And added bonuses of losing weight and not always being freezing cold... it really would be my "miracle pill"!
