Must be mudslide season
Possibly flood too. When the rain showed up, it came with a vengeance! It was pouring for most of last night, nothing this morning, then just started POURING again. It rarely rains like this and is totally bizarre to see. Oh, damn - just checked again... this is actually a flash flood, minus the flashing. I am really wishing I still had sandbags for the garage (the "driveway" slopes toward the garage instead of away from it). Here's the image at 20 min, it's poured twice since:
Moshi is out in it, well hidden I'm sure, but I still feel bad for him. When this downpour started, about 15 min ago, I tried to call him in during a lull but he missed his chance. Now we both wait for the next break.
And I have outdoor volunteer work this afternoon. Should be interesting. I don't mind being rained on - not even pouring rain - but I'm supposed to go from that to the theater to see a play. If the rain stays heavy, I might skip the play - save myself the stress of navigating 30 miles of freeway that's bumper to bumper, going 5mph, and full of accidents (first rains turn the oil on the freeways into a situation similar to black ice). But maybe the rain will stop before then.
Yesterday was a mostly wasted day spent in bed, feeling like hell. In the evening, I finally did some laundry, trimmed some backyard plants that were annoying me, mopped the bathroom floor, sorted books to give to the G/L center, and straightened up the living room. It's amazing how much more room I have now. Too bad I now have a big box of crap to go through.
I doubt I'll get anything productive done to today. At least, not productive to me. Helping Justin hand out race packets will be super productive for his charity. He's expecting to pull in as much as $100,000 just from tomorrow's morning's Turkey Trot.
Time for coffee.
