Mirrors are BAD, m'kay?

Comments

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of mirrors... I know what I look like, and what I want to look like isn't always the same, but mirrors really DO add pounds. bleh.

Heh, I was about to say the exact same thing as above---I'm not a big fan of mirrors (especially these days) but it does help. When I was doing kickboxing, we'd do mirror work, just the warm up exercises with punching & kicking and at first I was a total retard, and I didn't want to be anywhere near the mirror to see how uncoordinated I was but then I realized it does help to see what you are doing wrong, and how it feels when you can see that you are doing it right. I think if I had more full length mirrors in my house (or even one...) it might motivate me more to get up off my butt some more to de-flabbify it.

I'm glad it was good for you. Pilates is great for flexibility and of course, core strength.

I have 1 full length mirror in my house and am planning to add at least 1 more (maybe a couple if I get the "workout room" cleared out). But, in my experience, it's very easy to fall into a pattern of looking in a mirror without actually LOOKING... you know, getting a general impression instead of really seeing what's there.

S Factor's warmup is floor pilates. I've always wanted to try machine pilates and after watching the student before me last night, I can tell it would totally kick my ass. I'd love to find a workable combo of pole dancing 1x per week and pilates machine 1x per week. Guess it would help if I get off my ass and actually research it, huh?
I have one word for you next time your in front of a mirror, props.
LOL - the beach ball seemed great till I saw the plastic lawn Santa!!
