Family went to Red Robin. Had the Blackened Bayou Burger, with the substitution of a Boca patty.

So, it was a "Blackened Bayou Boca Burger."

Say that five times fast.
Last night? Oh, that was a good dinner... we were still out visiting my sister, b-i-l, mom & dad in Ann Arbor, and we can *ALL* cook. Wine & cheese early; the riesling was from a semi-local Michgan vineyard (which sounds funny but it wasn't bad) and the cheese was three recommendations from Zingermans. Dinner was a pearl-barley pilaf with shiitakes and slivered almonds, served alongside fantastic steaks, field greens with balsamic viniagrette, and a beaujolais nouveau.

Dessert was a bunch of my mom's Christmas cookies -- pecan pie cups, almond squares, date bars (actually I think my sister made those), creme de menthe brownies, and traditional frosted cookie-cutter shapes. Oh, and a baker's dozen mini-cupcakes from Cupcake Station (their lemon bars are actually now my favorite).

You asked. On your own head be it. ;)

(now, the night before last, I played lead in the kitchen; but since that's not what you asked, I don't have to explain why the risotto became soup)
[this is good]
Hmmm...

Cheese and crackers. Sat on my ass and ate whatever was left of my French Le Roulé.
One half of a stuffed yellow pepper and some bread with olive oil/balsamic. I swear I would eat that every day.
Roast leg of lamb. Roast potatoes. Spicy red cabbage. Carrots in olive oil with garlic, recipe courtesy of Mark. Peas and corn for Middle Son, who hates carrots and decided agin the red cabbage. Home made gravy. Mince pies made by Daughter.

Still full today...
Thanks everyone! After my "dinner" of doritos & cookies, I was feeling like one of those "yummy" diet food commercials and wanted to confirm that I really am the only one who eats as crappy as I do.

Though it looks like Cupcate and I could live well together...
My cheese & crackers dinner is usually "No Woman" cheese with Club Crackers. Mmmmmm!!

"No Woman" cheese

I've seen that; it's like a white cheddar veined through with wine or something? Makes me think just a wee bit too much of Bob Marley and one of my college roommates, though. Oh little darling, don't you shed no tear...
The "veins" are jamacian spices... tasting similar to A1 sauce. I describe it as cheese that tastes like steak. I can eat absolutely ridiculous amounts of it in a single sitting.
Now that actually sounds really good.
