License Plate Game
Since the days when I used to commute 70 miles, one way, to work every day - through major touristy sections of SoCal (Los Angeles, Hollywood, Burbank/Universal City, Malibu, Santa Monica, etc) - I've played the License Plate Game to keep myself amused in horrid traffic.
To celebrate the first day of summer, and the return of tourists, I'm kicking off the game again today. Doubt I'll get all 50 (my current, 36 mile, commute doesn't take me past prime tourist spots) but who knows. My only rule is that I have to actually to actually read the state - it doesn't count if I recognize the plate style and think I know the state.

Wow. I didn't know Pittsburgh only had 300-some thousand residents. And Upper Darby!!! is the 5th highest populated place in the state? More than Harrisburg, Scranton or even Chester? can that be right I wonder? hmmm (I live right near Upper Dump--er--Darby)
anyway, have fun with your tourist game!
I don't vouch for accuracy of any of the linked info - it was just an easy way to get a list of states and I thought it would be interesting to leave the links.
I agree, 300k seems awfully small... but that's the info on the city's website too (per a y2k census)
lol - did i sound snippy? i didn't mean to.
i didn't think you were questioning me. i thought the # seemed low too so I looked it up.
