I might have scabies?

Comments

i got scabies on my hands, once, from digging around in the soil - gardening. I was surprised to learn that scabies resides in soil. But it was easy to treat. Wash all towels and bedding. Don't spread it by using the same towels or wearing the same clothes as others use or wear. And use the stuff the doc prescribes - all over your entire body.

I have that concern about 'micro - bugs'. If I didn't rent I would rip up all the carpeting as it has to be full of bugs and mites and dirt that the vacuum can't get. icky.
Oddly, mites are the only micro bug for which I'm specifically wigged out. I think it started from having a plant get infested with spider mites and my brain just warped it from there. But I've also seen all manner of little, unknown, bugs in my window sill and things and wondered how many are in other places and what their effects could be.

I'm currently washing all the linens, to be followed by the rest of my dirty clothes. Will cover myself in the cream tonight and see if I'm any better tomorrow. It's a 50/50 thing... cause I'm definitely having traditional allergy symptoms too - hives, itchy throat, etc. And there's no clear evidence of any mite "tunnels" or bites. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I HAD to google scabies to look at pictures. Now I feel itchy.
A break from your suffering for some screwy comedy weirdness... (ps, feel better soon--hope this makes you laugh).

I used to sing this in the 1980s when I worked the grill at Hardees (it REALLY pissed off my manager). Bonus: this version is some dude playing banjo! It was originally by The Piggys, methinks. My Babies Got Rabies (Not Gonorrhea, Syphilis, or Scabies).
One of the things that I get paranoid about are bedbugs. I worked in pest control (office, not technician) for about 2 years, and I learned more about bedbugs than I really wanted to know. Now, I get paranoid about it because they are hard to get rid of, especially with the messy way we live...
i felt better when i read that the scabies mites require human host - cause i don't have to be paranoid about every last corner of my home being a possible infestation spot.
