Guess Who's An Alpha Cat

She wants to be the ONLY cat in the household. And she's more than willing to fight for it. And, despite her partial blindness, she's got some seriously good aim!

Moshi, who wanted to be her best friend, is now terrified of her.

Espressa & Boo haven't even met her yet.

I had to put a towel over one side of her crate because it's by the back door and when she smelled Moshi coming in, she tried to take him out. I found her hissing and pissy, arms all the way out of the crate, clawing at nothing.

Moshi was in the backyard, looking at the door like he was thinking, "WTF?!?"

I didn't mentally prep for this scenario. This is gonna be even harder than I imagined!

i usually found it took about a week tops for everyone to acclimate to a new kitty.. usually ONE took to being the friend right away, and the others got over it, for the most part in time... hell, twitch and dawgfude still don't get along... and its been like 3 years.. oh well. good luck !!

Awwww. I don't know anything about cats but she's acclimating to 3 things: a new home, new roomies, and still reduced eyesight.

At least Moshi was willing to be her friend, that's kind of a good sign. Hopefully was Sara said will be true for you too (the first part!). I could be one hell of a week but still. good luck.

My other 3 don't get along - each one hates at least one other. I was hoping this would be a little easier.. I don't know why. Now I'm hoping Skritches is just extra defensive because of her vision and that, after awhile of smelling the same cats over & over, she'll mellow out. But I'm not counting on it.

yeah im sure because of her lack of eyesight that stresses her out, but smelling them consistently will help out. im sure its just nerves right now is all. just give'em all time, and equal amounts of lovin.

cats are pack animal so she is just trying to assert her position in the pack, she should settle down once they all know her position, cats usually don't fight after that's settled.

Tell that to Espressa, Boo & Moshi - who still fight. EVERY day.

I suspect they aren't really fighting but playing or you'd have some really injured kitties
