Fine... I showered & went outside
Around 5, I finally showered and got dressed to run errands. I was happily thinking about how proud I was that I wouldn't be tempted by Target, especially in post-holiday madness, when it suddenly dawned on me that they'd probably have everything I was seeking - saving me from 3 other stores.
Of course, it didn't work out that way - my small, ghetto, Target didn't have weather stripping or orchid bark, or the toothpaste I wanted. And I forgot that I had a prescription to pick up at Walgreen's. That meant that no stops were saved - just rerouted. But I was good, I only picked up 2 items not on my list - an ornament storage container that I'd meant to buy anyway (and I think was the last in the store) and a 6pack of Pepsi (I prefer Coke but if I have one Coke, I crave 1000 more. Not so with Pepsi). So that wasn't too bad.
I remembered mailers - DVDs really will go out on Monday!!
I left the Home Depot run for tomorrow - so I'd be encouraged to leave the house again. Though it's not really a priority and could easily be put of till another night.
I bought some stuff online today, without going crazy: leggings to wear with my long shirt/dress (cause opaque tights were a little too revealing and denim leggings were just sad), a nightgown ($10), slip on jazz shoes (to wear during pole workouts); and I submitted my return order info for the too-big lace up boots from Torrid ($42 refund).
I looked into Bar Method workouts. They look intriguing. Annoyingly difficult, esp for a fattie (everyone in their pictures is already super toned) but big payoffs. I'd like to try it but, like everything else, there are no studios at convenient locations and the only class I could attend is earlier than I care to get up on weekends. But maybe I'll try it at least once. Note to self: Call about the FREE pilates classes!!
"The Party", staring Peter Sellers, is showing at a local theater starting tomorrow. Maybe I'll remember to go to that. Or the Aquarium of the Pacific, which just started advertising that they're open till 9p and have $10 admission after 5. I was a founding member there but dropped my membership after they opened cause it's usually ridiculously crowded, and the Puffins (sea birds), in their little enclosure, made me sad. But it's also the spot where I've had one of my funniest overheard comments. There was an outdoor display of sea turtles - no top on the display area. A sea gull was sitting in there munching on stuff and a woman wondered aloud how they manage to keep the gull in there. Uhhhmm... here's a thought... they don't. It flew in on it's own & was fully able to leave too. I understand the initial confusion but didn't understand how she never figured out what was really going on... esp given the gabillion seagulls about the area.
Anyhoo... Sat night and I'm watching the rebroadcast of the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony (which I'm noticing has some really crappy angles which don't allow you to really see what's going on)? Granted, I didn't see it the first or second time it aired. And I'm digging the costumes (would love to own some!) but there's gotta be something better on. Or... movie time?!? Maybe I'll just crank up the heater and go back to sleeping on the couch.

Oh you should go see The Party!! It's a hoot. Good clean fun.
That's too funny with the seagull! One of the weirdest things I've ever seen in a zoo was a seagull. In a zoo, in captivity in the Honolulu zoo. They don't have seagulls there normally, or at least I realized when I saw one on display that I hadn't seen one anywhere else on the island.
I need to get to HD too one of these days.
omg, I almost got sucked into the Olympics too, since I never saw it the first time around (and didn't know there was a second time). It was on when I went to watch the Dark Knight and I watched like 5-10 minutes and made myself turn it off. The commentators were already getting on my nerves for some reason, I guess I just wasn't in the mood to listen.
The Dark Knight was good, but I think I liked Batman Begins more.
good to know on the movie. I only saw Batman Begins when DK came out, wouldn't even have known of it's existence if C hadn't mentioned it. I liked BB a LOT!
side comment: Isn't nice how many Gael pics I have in my favs now? (I just saw about 5 go by)
