I know I read this post shortly after you originally posted this, and I had even heard the story before, but I was glad to stumble across it again today.

It was good to hear/read this story again at this point in my life because I am unemployed again and needed a reminder that good can come from change.
I feel you. The story was first passed to me around 1990 and I still hold on to it, like a life line, during hard times!

In all seriousness, I've found the premise to be very true... all my difficult times have led to new skills which have led to my current career. I genuinely believe that Life works out as it's supposed to - just vary rarely on the schedule you'd like.

Aaah Yes. Fatima. As sadness cuts into the wood, it shapes a bowl to hold the happiness in its wake. The deeper the cut, the wider the bowl, the more happiness and joy can fill it.
