Christmas Eve? REALLY?!?

Comments

nope - not christmas eve at all - its CHRISTMAS DAY!
lol - all the same to me anyway! hope you're having a wonderful holiday!
Merry Christmas...I love this time of year!

Except I am sick and in my PJ's...I haven't showered in days - or brushed my teeth for that matter. My husband has been gingerly trying to suggest I shower...all day he has been pushing me towards the shower. He just told me friends are stopping by at 6 *so you might want to think about showering...* I think he just invited them to see if I would shower. It's become a Mexican standoff.

I say stay in your PJ's as long as you can - I am!!! And I'm going to boycott the shower as well.

Let me know how those vids are and if I should buy them as well.
4:15 and I'm still stinky and in my PJs!!

I have to admit that when I'm sick I usually feel world's better once I take a nice hot shower. But I think you should boycott it just to mess with your hubby and friends!
Yeah...I broke down and showered and brushed my teeth and while I am still pretty sick I actually feel much better after the shower (and I am sure I smell better too!).
I made it till 7:30pm before I caved. Now I want to go do something but the only think I can think of is to walk to the store for a soda.
The only reason why I caved is my friend came over for Christmas drinks (and some others are still on their way)...however he informed me it was a wasted shower since HE hadn't showered in 3 days...not that I could tell/smell since I have no sense of smell at all...hubby now thinks we are both gross but the hubby invited stinky boy over - not me. I was perfectly happy alone in bed :)

Sick sucks
And get out of the house!!!!!

Call some friends and see what they are doing...go crash a party or something :)
[this is good]
Leenda,
You entertain us all year. It's OK to take a break.
--My Best Christmas Wishes!
& Enjoy the dinner at your boss's house.
Love,
Z
did your sickness fry your brain? i'm constantly blogging about the fact that i have no IRL friends! and there were no parties to crash - the few people I know were all with family.

i considering going to a bar - they're usually dead and it has a unique appeal - but that seemed like too much effort. i went back to bed.
Please you have some RL friends I know you do :)
Not really... not anyone to hang with or to call in an emergency. It's a phase. One of many.

Sorry to be late to the comment party. Hope you rocked out the PJs for as long as possible.

Looking forward to the BeSpun review. I just ventured over to the site the other day and thought about getting something myself. Like a pole, lol. :-)

I'm really disappointed with the first BeSpun dvd. The Art of Pole DVDs set a new standard - and with the exchange rates, they're much cheaper. I HIGHLY recommend Art of Pole! Highly, highly, highly!!

If you're going to buy a pole, skip the middle man and go directly to the manufacturers: Platinum Stages, X-Pole, or Lil Mynx.

Well that's a bummer. I had seen some of her vids on YouTube and thought the instructional ones might be good as well. I'll have to look into the Art of Pole as well.

When I somehow save enough pennies, I'll go straight to the manufacturer. Oh, yeah, and when I somehow find space in the house to have a pole.

I actually took classes there for a while and they were not very instructional - granted I did not have Leigh Anne as my teacher - but it is her place so I am not that surprised.
I get the feeling that the videos were rushed out because of Jamilla's vids being released. So they weren't as polished as they could have been. I dunno.. as I told VB, I might have liked them better had I not seen Art of Pole.

I still have to watch Intermed & Advanced... prob later today. Who knows, they might be better.
let me know...I am thinking I might want to get the intermediate and advanced just because :)
I think you'll like the combos in the Advanced dvd. Prob the Intermediate too. They're both focused almost entirely on flips & inverts. Still severely lacking in good instruction & any spotting - in fact Intermediate Combo #5 could seriously injure (kill?) someone who isn't familiar enough with poles to know their limits... it's an extremely advanced combo with lots of probability for falling, head first, and the dvd never discusses issues like control & "braking".

And since when is an on-pole invert (climb the pole, then hang on one side and flip) an intermediate move?!? But I digress... I think you'll like some of the combos and if you can't figure them out on your own, most are taught (with detailed instruction) on the Jamilla DVDs.
Hmmm anything with a climb and flip isn't really intermediate at S Factor...because they really don't teach you that much pole but at other schools that are much more pole centric I could see it. Plus for me that is much easier than say a flying body spiral. I will do jackknifes before that damned flying body spiral that S Factor seems to like to base 3/4 of their combos on!!!!! F-Ers LOL

Personally I think it is somewhere in between intermediate and advanced. I kinda feel like in the pole world even though Leigh Anne looks incredible and dances well she's kinda like in the intermediate range and a Jamilla is in the very advanced range but to me really doesn't dance well (as great as Jamilla is I find her movements to be as sexy as wallpaper- but maybe her dvd's are rocking and I just haven't seen her really dance yet) that being said I would be in the upper beginner range so I'm sure I will get something out of these dvd's even if it's just a fun stripper move hahaha.
I totally agree on Jamilla. I think she's fantastic at pole acrobatics. And she teaches pole moves & tricks better than anyone else I've seen (lots of technical info, pointers, and building moves upon each other). But sultry/sensual? Not so much!!

As opposed to S, which is heavy on the sultry and lacking in acrobatics.

For someone who already knows the basics, I think the BeSpun dvds could be fine. Although I don't care for her assistants, Leigh Ann also demo's all of the combos (3 times, each) and looks great doing it. So those are good for people who know to watch for nuances. But, in my opinion, the BeSpun dvds would not be a good place for true novices to start... she just leaves out too much info.
