Christmas Eve? REALLY?!?
I'm still not feeling any of the "holiday spirit". Not at all. It's been weak before but this year it is completely lacking. It really freaks me out that the holiday is here already and will be gone long before I ever get on board.
I managed to get all of my errands run last night and was home, and asleep, by 6pm. I feel asleep on the sofa. Woke up around 8p, watched some TV, them moved to the bedroom where I was in and out of sleep all night and morning. I woke up at 5a and turned on the news - falling back asleep and dreaming of tamales as the news talked about them, and hundreds of people lined up to buy masa, every 5 minutes. Now I really want some tamales... but only from one of the places featured on the news (I'd go but you usually have to place orders ahead of time).
I got out of bed "for real" at 11, when the postal carrier rang the "bell" (buzzer) to let me know I had a package. Merry Christmas to me... my BeSpun Pole Workout dvds arrived! (I'll review them later.)
Sooo... what to do today? We're supposed to be expecting a major storm so if I'm going to drive any distance, I should probably do it soon. I'd like to get some more coffee, though I can probably wait till Friday. I'd like some turkey - but that means braving Bristol Farms, which will be PACKED with people getting fancy foods & drinks for the holiday. Plus, I'd have to pass a Target to get there - which means traffic from hell.
Maybe I'll just stay in my pjs all day? I don't know. It's strange to feel like I'm "supposed" to be doing something - but I have nothing to do. It makes me uptight. Maybe I'll take a xanax, bundle myself up in a blankie, and spend another day asleep. I don't have to do anything or be anywhere till 3pm tomorrow (boss' house / dinner).
To all my voxy peeps: Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Good Kwanzaa, and merry merry happy happy anything you celebrate!!

Except I am sick and in my PJ's...I haven't showered in days - or brushed my teeth for that matter. My husband has been gingerly trying to suggest I shower...all day he has been pushing me towards the shower. He just told me friends are stopping by at 6 *so you might want to think about showering...* I think he just invited them to see if I would shower. It's become a Mexican standoff.
I say stay in your PJ's as long as you can - I am!!! And I'm going to boycott the shower as well.
Let me know how those vids are and if I should buy them as well.
I have to admit that when I'm sick I usually feel world's better once I take a nice hot shower. But I think you should boycott it just to mess with your hubby and friends!
Sick sucks
Call some friends and see what they are doing...go crash a party or something :)
i considering going to a bar - they're usually dead and it has a unique appeal - but that seemed like too much effort. i went back to bed.
Sorry to be late to the comment party. Hope you rocked out the PJs for as long as possible.
Looking forward to the BeSpun review. I just ventured over to the site the other day and thought about getting something myself. Like a pole, lol. :-)
If you're going to buy a pole, skip the middle man and go directly to the manufacturers: Platinum Stages, X-Pole, or Lil Mynx.
Well that's a bummer. I had seen some of her vids on YouTube and thought the instructional ones might be good as well. I'll have to look into the Art of Pole as well.
When I somehow save enough pennies, I'll go straight to the manufacturer. Oh, yeah, and when I somehow find space in the house to have a pole.
I still have to watch Intermed & Advanced... prob later today. Who knows, they might be better.
And since when is an on-pole invert (climb the pole, then hang on one side and flip) an intermediate move?!? But I digress... I think you'll like some of the combos and if you can't figure them out on your own, most are taught (with detailed instruction) on the Jamilla DVDs.
Personally I think it is somewhere in between intermediate and advanced. I kinda feel like in the pole world even though Leigh Anne looks incredible and dances well she's kinda like in the intermediate range and a Jamilla is in the very advanced range but to me really doesn't dance well (as great as Jamilla is I find her movements to be as sexy as wallpaper- but maybe her dvd's are rocking and I just haven't seen her really dance yet) that being said I would be in the upper beginner range so I'm sure I will get something out of these dvd's even if it's just a fun stripper move hahaha.
As opposed to S, which is heavy on the sultry and lacking in acrobatics.
For someone who already knows the basics, I think the BeSpun dvds could be fine. Although I don't care for her assistants, Leigh Ann also demo's all of the combos (3 times, each) and looks great doing it. So those are good for people who know to watch for nuances. But, in my opinion, the BeSpun dvds would not be a good place for true novices to start... she just leaves out too much info.
