Adventures in Knee Pain

So... I wore heels to work today. So... my knee has been pretty vocal about not liking it. So... what! I needed a break from sneakers & flats.

Except (mild TMI to follow)...
I was just down in the bathrooms and found I couldn't... get off the pot. I went to stand up. My knee said, "Just where do you think you're going?" and it stayed put. I finally managed some trickery so I was able to get up without having to take off my shoes (cause, ick!) but that has, most definitely, confirmed that I will be installing handicap bars in my home bathroom (along with the slightly higher elevation toilet which is supposed to be good for old people) - and only using the handicaps stalls at work from now on.

Had to share cause I know how much we Voxers love laughing at each other.

Damn! I had that happen yesterday, too. (Mine is the result of a bike wreck that banged up my knee. Luckily I was IN a handicap stall, because I was already wearing flats.)

That sucks... but you know, I prefer the handicap stalls. I hate having to get into a stall and not have enough room to maneuver in the space provided. I don't want to have to touch each wall just to close the door!

I hope your knee forgives you for yesterday and is much nicer to you today.

Cripes! Get better SOON! Pain is bad. Taking off shoes in public loo is bad too. At least you did not have to fall to your hands and knees - wait, that wasn't the trickery, surely!

(rushes to internet to research handicap bars cos I sure as hell am gonna need those soon!)

No, the trickery was a bit of rocking momentum, twist the bad leg sideways (confuses it long enough to stay stable), and upsie-daisy gung-ho. lol.

btw: I'm back in sneakers today. I don't anticipate any more problems.

thank gawd I didn't go to the Olympics - every time I try to imagine me dealing with those squat toilets, I crack up!

I'm thankful in Japan, they have been adding more western toilets to public restrooms. soooo much easier.
