The USPDF is very excited to announce two upcoming regional competitions in N. Hollywood and Charlottesville. We have the special opportunity to work with great representatives for each competition, Samantha Jones of Shergold Studio in VA, and Michula Nunez of Antix Fitness Studio in CA.      Winners of the two regional competitions will reserve a spot to compete in the USPDF Championship 2010. The USPDF will also be giving out up to 5 pro-status at each competition.

Charlie scales the walls of his master's home in Denny, near Falkirk, to sneak indoors via an upstairs balcony. The ginger and white tomcat's gravity-defying skills have earned him the nickname 'Spider-cat', reports the Daily Telegraph. His owner Hannah Smith discovered his talent when she let him out of the front door, only for him to reappear indoors moments later. Miss Smith said: "Charlie miaows at the front door to be let out. So we let him out but no sooner is he let out than he wants back in. "But if no one hears him at the front door, he wanders round to the back of the buildings to find the balcony. He then climbs up to the balcony to get back in. "So Charlie really goes out the front door and in the back door." She added: "I got him as a wee kitten and out of the litter Charlie was the one that looked most mischievous and I liked that about him. He's certainly lived up to his reputation. "I think it is totally incredible how Charlie is able to climb up a roughcast wall. I've seen cats climb trees but I've never seen a cat climb a wall. It's amazing."

Jerry Jalava built a special prosthetic finger which contains computer storage for photos, movies and other useful files. It looks like a normal finger but he can peel it back from the 'nail' and plug it into the USB slot on his computer, reports the Daily Telegraph. The software developer, from Helsinki, lost his finger last summer after crashing his one week old Ducati Monster 696 motorbike. He was rushed to Helsinki Hospital where he was examined by a hand surgeon who said they were unable to save it and amputated half of the finger. When Jerry told doctors what he did for a living they joked he should have a USB 'finger drive' but that was good enough for him, and he set about making one. He embedded a USB key in a traditional prosthetic finger giving him the world's only two gigabyte finger. The finger is not permanently attached to his hand meaning it can be removed when plugged into a computer. "It is not attached permanently in to my body, it is a removable prosthetic which has a USB memorystick inside it," said Jerry. "When I'm using the USB, I just leave my finger inside the slot and pick it up after I'm ready."

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A man who tried to mellow out his cat by stuffing her into a homemade bong is facing criminal charges — and catcalls from animal lovers. Authorities cited a 20-year-old man on suspicion of animal cruelty Sunday after catching him smoking marijuana from a contraption that had a cat stuffed inside its 12-inch by 6-inch base. The man told sheriff's deputies the 6-month-old female named Shadow had been hyper and that he was trying to calm her down.
